Section 5 - Title, Lien, and Ownership Representations

Section 8 - Additional Oregon DMV and Legal Notes
- Seller must file a Notice of Sale / Release of Interest with Oregon DMV within 10 days (online or form).
- Buyer must title and register the vehicle within 30 days to avoid penalties.
- For vehicles 2011 and newer (under 20 years), odometer disclosure is mandatory.
- Dealers must comply with FTC Used Car Rule (Buyers Guide) in addition to this disclosure.
- Private sellers should consider providing the DMV Vehicle Bill of Sale (Form 735-501) in addition to or instead of back-of-title assignment.
- This disclosure does not replace required emissions or safety inspections where applicable in certain Oregon counties or for certain vehicles.
