>
> Alaska's New Motor Vehicle Warranties Act (AS 45.45.370 et seq.) provides certain protections for buyers of new motor vehicles that have a manufacturer's defect that substantially impairs the vehicle's use, market value, or safety. These protections include the right to a refund or replacement after a reasonable number of repair attempts.
>
> The Alaska lemon law does NOT apply to this transaction. The vehicle is being sold used (or as-is), and lemon-law protections cover only manufacturer defects in new vehicles within the warranty period. The buyer acknowledges this disclosure and accepts the vehicle under the as-is terms stated in Section 3.
Section 8 - Buyer Acknowledgment and Release
By signing below, the buyer acknowledges and agrees:
- The buyer has had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and/or arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection prior to signing this disclosure.
- The buyer is purchasing the vehicle AS IS, with full knowledge of the defects disclosed in Section 4 and any additional conditions observable upon reasonable inspection.
- The buyer releases the seller from any and all claims arising from defects, conditions, or failures that were disclosed in this document or that were discoverable upon reasonable inspection prior to purchase.
- The buyer understands that Alaska does not provide a statutory right to cancel a used-vehicle sale after execution of this disclosure and the accompanying bill of sale.

Section 9 - Alaska Title Transfer Notice

- Seller signs the back of the title. The seller must sign the assignment section on the reverse of the Alaska (or out-of-state) certificate of title and complete the odometer disclosure section on the title document if required.
- Buyer submits to Alaska DMV. Vehicle title transfers in Alaska are processed at the Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Bring the signed title, this disclosure, a completed title application (DMV Form 812 or current equivalent), a valid government-issued photo ID, and proof of Alaska insurance.
- Pay Alaska title and registration fees. Alaska title fees and registration fees are assessed based on vehicle type and weight. There is no state sales tax on vehicle purchases in Alaska, though municipal taxes may apply - verify with your municipality.
- Receive new Alaska title and registration. The Alaska DMV issues a new certificate of title in the buyer's name along with registration and license plates.
- Out-of-state titles. If the vehicle carries an out-of-state title, the buyer must surrender the out-of-state title and complete an Alaska title application. A VIN inspection may be required for certain out-of-state vehicles.
- Lien notation (if financed). If the buyer is financing the purchase, the lender's name and address must be listed on the title application as the first lienholder.
