Section 7 - Buyer Acknowledgment and Release

- The buyer is purchasing the vehicle AS IS, with full knowledge of the defects disclosed in Section 4 and any additional conditions observable upon reasonable inspection.
- The buyer releases the seller from any and all claims arising from defects, conditions, or failures of the vehicle that were disclosed in this document or that were discoverable upon reasonable inspection.
- The buyer understands that Colorado does not provide a statutory right to cancel a used-vehicle sale after execution of this disclosure and the accompanying bill of sale.

Section 8 - Colorado Title Transfer Notice
After execution of this disclosure, the following steps apply to complete title transfer in Colorado:
- Obtain signed title from seller. The seller must sign the title assignment section and complete the odometer disclosure on the title document if required.
- Submit to the county motor vehicle office. Bring the signed title, this disclosure, a valid government-issued photo ID, and proof of Colorado insurance to the county motor vehicle office (Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles, dmv.colorado.gov).
- Pay Colorado sales/use tax. Colorado imposes 2.9% state sales tax (C.R.S. § 39-26-113), plus county and city/local taxes that can add up to roughly 8% more depending on the buyer's jurisdiction, collected at the time of registration.
- Pay title and registration fees. The current Colorado title fee is $7.20 (subject to change); registration fees vary by vehicle class.
- Meet the transfer deadline. Colorado requires the buyer to complete the title transfer within 60 days of the sale (C.R.S. § 42-6-116). The seller must also report the transfer of ownership within 5 days via myDMV or at a county motor vehicle office to end liability for the vehicle.
- Obtain new Colorado title and registration. The county motor vehicle office issues a new Colorado certificate of title and registration in the buyer's name.
